Through her imagery, materials and deft hand tooling, Chelsey Radabaugh recreates her stories and draws the viewer into her narrative.
Her personal investigations sets the stage for dialogue between viewer and the wearer with the physical temptations of substances, the distorted view of gender, as well as the perceived preciousness of commodities. These subjects are what Chelsey finds appealing and what stories she finds worth telling.
Her experimentation is exciting as she combines the traditional, along with innovative and mundane materials of silver, enamel, sugar, and Rapid Prototyping resins and plastics. As her investigation of her subjects and materials continues, each series will no doubt continue to influence the other as she strives to document her ideas and ultimately evoke conversations.
